Solution

Heliport lighting system is designed to provide visual guidance for helicopter pilots during takeoff, landing. the lighting system helps pilots identify the heliport location, determine the proper approach and departure paths, and maintain safe clearance from obstacles and other aircraft. key components and functions of a typical heliport lighting system :

The 8 helipads equipped with controllers , heliport FATO white recessed lights, heliport TLOF green recessed lights, heliport LED flood lights, and illuminated windsocks. These lighting system are critical to facilitating safe operation of helicopters, especially in challenging weather conditions.

² Heliport Controller : Power supply and control of heliport lighting systems.

² Heliport FATO : white recessed FATO lights placed on the helipad surface provide the pilot with a clear visual indication of the landing area, enabling precise landings and takeoffs. to help identify designated areas and runway boundaries

² Heliport TLOF : green recessed TLOF lights indicate landing and take-off areas, providing pilots with clear reference points, and illuminating the helipad surface.

² Heliport Floodlight:  provide adequate lighting around the helipad and improve ground crew visibility and aid in safe ground operations .

² Heliport Lighted windsock :  provide real-time information on wind speed and direction are vital to pilots . the pilot can make an informed decision about landing or take off, ensuring optimum flight safety.

² Heliport Beacon : as visual aids to help pilots identify and locate airports, especially during low visibility or nighttime conditions.it provide a prominent visual reference point for pilots approaching or departing from these facilities. They serve as visual guides for approach, departure, and taxiing operations.

Designing a helipad light project requires consideration of several factors, such as the size and layout of the helipad, the surrounding environment, and the needs of the users. Here are some key steps to follow:

Determine the lighting requirements: Helipad lighting is essential for safe helicopter operations during nighttime and low-visibility conditions. CAAC & the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sets standards for helipad lighting, which specify the number, color, and intensity of lights required based on the size and type of helipad. Consult the ICAO guidelines and local regulations to determine the lighting requirements for your project.

Choose the light fixtures: There are several types of light fixtures that can be used for helipad lighting, including FATO TLOF inset lights, elevated lights, floodlights , PAPI Light , SAGA ,Beacons and Windcone .The choice of fixtures will depend on factors such as the size of the helipad, the level of ambient light in the surrounding environment, and the visual requirements of the helicopter pilots.

Install and test the lighting system: Once the design is complete, the lighting fixtures should be installed and tested to ensure that they meet the ICAO standards and are functioning correctly. Testing should include checks for visibility, color, and intensity, as well as the functionality of the control panel and backup power system.

It's important to note that the specific design and configuration of a heliport lighting system can vary depending on the size, location, and intended use of the heliport. such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and local aviation authorities, provide guidelines and standards for heliport lighting to ensure consistent and safe operations.

Overall, a successful helipad light project design requires careful planning and execution, with attention to detail and adherence to industry standards and best practices.
